When South Africans were up for another Summer stuck at home in lockdown, we created a Home Bot for their use made available in the most democratic way possible – Twitter.

And with more than 98% of South Africans without access to a Home Bot, our drop went down.


(5 weeks from brief to launch).

We never saw the queue, but we’re pretty sure there was one.

Just like any big tech release, we launched Lulu through a countdown drop across all social channels before she was made available to our followers.

without the use of voice?

Using Twitters new (at the time) voice to Tweet function, followers could speak directly to Lulu emulating the functionality of a traditional Home Bot.

What’s a big tech drop without celebrity endorsement?

Short form “product demos” brought Lulu to life, showing followers she’s not just another basic bot. Vusi Kunene, AKA Mega-Super TV Villain Jack Mabaso and his deadly black leather glove shows us that even the most serious of people can have a good time stuck at home – thanks to Lulu.
